OREAS 75c

OREAS 75c is a nickel sulphide CRM prepared from high-grade massive nickel sulphide ore and barren ultramafic material sourced from the Prospero and Tapinos nickel mines in the Kathleen Valley area, approximately 30 km north of Leinster, Western Australia, and barren gabbronorite.

The Prospero and Tapinos deposits lie within the Agnew-Wiluna portion of the Norseman-Wiluna greenstone belt. The komatiite-associated mineralisation comprises massive and semi-massive primary magmatic Ni-Fe sulphides with minor Cu, Co and platinum group elements (PGEs).

OREAS 75c has been characterized using the following methods:

  • Major elements by oxidising fusion with XRF finish
  • Full ICP-OES and MS elemental suites by lithium borate or sodium peroxide fusion
  • Full ICP-OES and ICP-MS elemental suites by 4-acid (HNO3–HF–HClO4–HCl) digestion
  • Total S by Infrared combustion furnace

Certified values for applicable analytes are operationally defined for each method, with results under OREAS ISO 17034 scope of accreditation.

Note: Analyte values are indicative only and may change when certified.
